Energy is all around us in the wind, sun, air, earth, and water yet we must pay ever increasing prices to large national utility companies and even larger international fossil fuel suppliers for the energy we use. Now, as never before, with changes in the technology and economics of energy, it is possible for individual citizens and community groups to invest in energy projects to save money and even to receive a return on energy investments. Whether its solar, bio, hydro, hydrogen, tidal, wave, or storage the opportunities abound. In this interactive event we will provide a broad overview of the opportunities in each of these areas then work in groups to create ideas for mini and maxi community energy projects. We will conclude the workshop with an exploration of how these ideas can be financed and realised.
